See the sender. Know what will change.
DeclutrMail puts recurring senders and their recent email in one place. Open a sender's details, then preview the scope before moving mail.
What Google will ask you to allow
Google’s screen asks for one Gmail permission, gmail.modify, and words it more broadly than DeclutrMail uses it: DeclutrMail moves and labels email and never sends email as you. We never fetch or store full email contents.
Your inbox doesn’t move.
DeclutrMail is a companion to Gmail, not a replacement email client. Gmail remains where you read, reply, compose, and search.
Keep doing in Gmail
Read full messages, reply, compose, search, use labels, and manage conversations.
Do faster in DeclutrMail
Review senders, see why an action is suggested, preview the affected emails, confirm, and use Undo from Activity when it is available.
Overview shows your next step. Clean up contains Senders, Triage and New senders. Automations contains Autopilot and Quiet hours. Activity records outcomes and available Undo. Recent subject links return to Gmail when you need the full conversation.
One decision per sender.
After you connect Gmail, a first scan groups email by sender. DeclutrMail shows progress as it goes; the time depends on mailbox size and Gmail’s limits. Every plan includes the ranked Senders view and the focused Triage queue.
Archive is suggested because of the volume and low marked-read rate.
The five decisions.
Keep, Archive, Unsubscribe, Later, and Delete are available in Triage, Senders, and Sender Detail on every plan. Delete is never recommended for you: you pick it yourself, and it always shows a full preview first.
| Decision | What changes in Gmail | Future email | Undo |
|---|---|---|---|
| KeepK | Nothing. Your decision is recorded. | The sender stops coming up in Triage. Keep is not Protect: only Protect keeps a sender out of bulk and automatic changes. | Change the decision any time. |
| ArchiveA | The previewed emails leave Inbox and stay in All Mail. | Unchanged, unless you turn on an Autopilot rule. | 30 days, on every plan. |
| UnsubscribeU | Sends the sender’s one-click request, or prepares a Gmail draft for you to send. Existing email stays where it is unless you choose a separate Archive or Delete. | The sender may stop mailing once it accepts the request. | A sent request cannot be undone. |
| LaterL | The previewed emails leave Inbox for DeclutrMail/Later until the return time you choose. | Unchanged, unless you turn on an Autopilot rule. | 30 days, on every plan. |
| DeleteD | The previewed emails move to Gmail Trash. | Unchanged, unless you turn on an Autopilot rule. | 30 days from Activity. Gmail Trash is a separate fallback, normally up to 30 days unless emptied sooner. |
Preview before email moves.
Archive, Later, Delete, and unsubscribe requests have a confirmation step. Keep is an inline sender decision. For mail-moving actions, the affected-email preview comes before you confirm. Activity shows running actions and confirmed outcomes, with Undo when available.
- ChoosePick an action or approve a suggested batch. Some actions ask for a time range or return time first.
- PreviewBefore moving email, see the count and a sample when available. For Unsubscribe, review the request method.
- ConfirmDeclutrMail makes the Gmail change or sends the unsubscribe request.
- ActivityThe result appears after Gmail or the sender confirms it.
- UndoReverse Archive, Later, or Delete until the deadline shown in Activity.
For one-click lists, the sender’s system reports whether it accepted the request. A delivered unsubscribe request cannot be undone; a paired Archive or Delete has its own Activity Undo.
Unsubscribe is also a choice about past email.
An unsubscribe request asks a sender to stop future mail. The email already in Gmail stays where it is unless you choose a separate cleanup action.
Leave it alone
Keep past email in place while the unsubscribe request is sent.
Archive or Delete it
Choose how far back to act. For Delete, choose Inbox only or Inbox + archived. The affected count updates in the preview before you confirm.
The sent unsubscribe request cannot be recalled. Archive and Delete have their own Undo in Activity when past email moves.
Manual cleanup is not a hidden rule.
Manual actions affect current mail matching the scope you approve; a manual Archive, Later, or Delete does not quietly decide what happens to future mail. Autopilot rules are separate and must be turned on: you see what a rule would do first, and only a rule you deliberately turn on acts without asking.
Manual cleanup
Every plan
Archive, Later, and Delete act on current mail matching the scope you approve. They do not quietly turn into rules for future mail.
Autopilot rules
Plus and Pro
Turning a preset on shows what it would do first. Low-engagement Archive and new-sender Later always collect suggestions for approval. Other presets offer Act now or Watch first. Every rule can be paused.
Free covers every action above, up to a monthly cleanup limit. Plus adds the Screener, which lists unfamiliar senders for review while their email still arrives in Gmail, the whole Autopilot system for rules you turn on yourself, and Quiet hours, which decide when those rules may run. Pro adds the Daily Brief, a once-a-day summary of what needs your attention, and Follow-ups, a queue of sent conversations that may need a follow-up. See every plan.
What Connect Gmail means.
DeclutrMail requests gmail.modify, because archiving, labeling, and moving email to Trash change the mailbox. It also requests basic identity scopes so the connected account can be identified.
You can leave cleanly
Revoke Gmail access or disconnect an inbox from the account menu, export your DeclutrMail data, or schedule whole-account deletion from Settings. Disconnecting keeps historical DeclutrMail records so reconnecting can restore context; Gmail itself is untouched. More on privacy and control and security.
Gmail details DeclutrMail stores:
- Gmail message and conversation IDs
- Sender name and email address
- Subject line
- Gmail preview snippet (the short text shown in your inbox list)
- Date received
- Gmail labels
- Your Gmail label names
- Read or unread state
- Whether a message was sent by you
- Recipient email addresses from To and Cc on email you sent
- Unsubscribe links and whether one-click unsubscribe is supported
- Estimated Gmail message size
DeclutrMail never fetches or stores:
- Full email contents
- Email HTML
- Attachments
- Images embedded in emails
- Raw email source
- Email headers other than From, Subject, To, Cc, and unsubscribe information
We never fetch or store full email contents. Gmail remains where messages are read and replied to.
Bring the sender view to your Gmail.
Connect Gmail, let the first scan finish, and make your first decision with the affected emails in view.
